On the Southern Cape coast, lies the town of Stilbaai (Still Bay), also known as the Bay of the Sleeping Beauty, which falls within the Garden Route. We are approximately 330 km from Cape Town, 150 km from George (our nearest national airport), 100 km from Mossel Bay - our nearest large commercial town. Stilbaai lies along the Eastern and Western sides of the Goukou River, a beautiful, well-kept estuary, of which the tidal part is approximately 16 km. We enjoy a very moderate climate, and temperature variations are mild. Our rainfall season is during winter, with occasional summer rains

The town offers all the essential services and a variety of supermarkets,shops, eating places and restaurants, etc. Our beautiful safe beaches are known country wide, and the main beach is proudly the carrier of the International Blue Flag status, with warm Indian Ocean waters. We have a harbour, from where fishing boats, professional and recreational, are launched, and fresh fish can be bought daily. There are numerous walking trails along the coast, and Morris Point nature reserve offers good surfing and fishing, while the estuary is very popular for fishing, canoeing and water skiing. Our 9-hole golf course has a magnificent view of the bay, and a modern club house with all the facilities.

Our crime rate is exceptionally low, and we still enjoy the luxury of living a peaceful life, without all the negative threats of the cities. We have a good number of guest houses and B&B's, as well as 3 caravan parks, so holiday accommodation can easily be found. For the peak holiday season (December and January), bookings must be done at least six months before the time. 10 km from us lies Jongensfontein, which is mainly a holiday destination, with a relatively small number of permament residents. It is also an excellent fishing area, as well as a surfing spot, and for the campers, the Municipal caravan park is so popular, that bookings have to made more than a year ahead.
